AI for Drone Operations in Defence / Services
We offer advanced AI-driven drone solutions for object detection, tracking, and navigation, enabling efficient and automated monitoring for security, border control, and hostile environment insights.
What is it about?
Object Detection → Detect specific objects (e.g., tanks, vehicles) in aerial normal/thermal photos or videos.
Object Tracking → Track the movement of detected objects in real-time for continuous monitoring.
Object Analysis → Analyze object characteristics (gps location, dimensions, size) and provide deeper insights.
Location Estimation → Estimate drone location by matching current view to aerial maps when GPS is unavailable.
Autonomous flight controller improvements - Drone is able to correct his flight position automatically with improved accuracy over classical PID models.
Business problems addressed
Security & Surveillance Automation → Object detection and tracking using drone-based normal and thermal cameras allow for automated identification of potential threats (e.g., tanks, hostile vehicles) in both day and night conditions. This reduces the need for human surveillance personnel and enhances real-time threat monitoring and response.
Border & Perimeter Monitoring → Drones equipped with AI vision solutions can track unauthorized vehicles or individuals crossing borders or restricted areas. This improves border security by automating large-scale monitoring without requiring constant human supervision.
Anomalous Behavior Detection → AI-driven object tracking from aerial views can identify suspicious or abnormal movement patterns in vehicles or other objects, triggering alerts for possible threats or security breaches.
Hostile Environment Insights→ Estimating object dimensions and analyzing aerial views helps in providing strategic insights about enemy positions or changes in a hostile environment. This aids in better planning and response for military or security operations.
Drone Navigation in GPS-Denied Zones → When GPS signals are blocked or limited, the drone's AI-based location estimation ensures it can continue to navigate effectively by matching real-time footage with pre-existing aerial maps. This keeps operations functional even in GPS-jammed environments.
Making it work
What we ask from the client:
Data Collection → The client provides aerial video or image data for training and validation, including normal or thermal imagery based on specific object tracking requirements (e.g., tanks, vehicles).
Detection & Tracking → The solution detects and tracks the objects defined by the client. For uncommon objects, the client supplies additional data for model training.
Analysis → The model analyzes detected objects, providing dimensions, location, and behavior insights. If required, the client ensures that metadata (e.g., drone altitude, camera focal length) is provided for more detailed analysis.
Location Estimation → The client supplies an orthophoto of the surveillance area, which is used to estimate the drone’s location when GPS is unavailable.
What is on us:
Data Preparation → We prepare, label, and augment client-provided data to train the models to meet their specific requirements.
Model Training & Validation → Our team develops and refines the object detection and location estimation models based on the client’s needs.
Continuous Support → We provide technical assistance for integrating the solution into the client’s existing systems, ensuring smooth deployment and continuous functionality.
Use cases
Object Detection + Tracking for Security
Detecting and tracking various objects (e.g., tanks, vehicles, individuals) in both normal and thermal imagery from varying altitudes. Can be applied to perimeter monitoring, identifying suspicious activities, or tracking unauthorized vehicles.Object Classification + Anomaly Detection
Classifying objects (e.g., identifying hostile vs. non-hostile vehicles like cars vs. tanks) and detecting unusual behavior. This can trigger alerts for immediate security response when anomalies in movement or behavior are identified.Object Dimension Estimation + Analysis
Calculating the size and location of detected objects such as vehicles or buildings in hostile areas, offering strategic insights. This is useful in military operations for area mapping and resource allocation.Drone Location Estimation Without GPS
Using aerial views to estimate the drone's location when GPS is unavailable, allowing for continued operations in GPS-denied environments (e.g., jamming or signal loss in hostile areas).
Key metrics improved
Process Automation → Reduction in the need for human surveillance personnel by automating object detection and tracking, leading to faster threat identification and resource allocation.
Decision Speed → Faster identification of threats or unusual behaviors through real-time tracking and anomaly detection, enabling quicker responses.
Operational Efficiency → Improved drone orientation and operation in GPS-limited environments, ensuring continuous mission capability without requiring human intervention.
